#JUSTIN: Delhi Police Confirm 69 Rounds Hit Dairy Merchant Rattan Lohia in Aya Nagar Ambush

Delhi police probe contract killing in brutal Aya Nagar ambush.

The chilling murder of 52-year-old dairy businessman Rattan Lohia in south Delhi's Aya Nagar area on November 30, 2025, has escalated into a high-profile investigation following revelations that assailants fired 72 rounds, with an astonishing 69 bullets recovered from the victim's body during postmortem examination as confirmed by Delhi Police officials on December 18-19, 2025.

Authorities suspect the involvement of over five professional shooters, potentially hired on contract, with probes extending to notorious gangsters operating from within Indian jails as well as possible links to underworld figures based abroad who may have orchestrated the targeted elimination amid escalating suspicions of organized crime elements.

The attack stemmed from a protracted and bitter rivalry between two local families that intensified since early 2024, reportedly over land disputes, culminating in this execution-style killing where Lohia was ambushed while heading to his dairy early in the morning near the Sunday market in Aya Nagar.

Delhi Police, utilizing extensive CCTV footage from the vicinity, meticulously tracked the movements of a black Nissan Magnite vehicle used by the perpetrators, noting the deliberate removal of its number plates to evade identification, while the assailants waited nearly half an hour before unleashing the barrage from the moving car.

As of December 19, 2025, the ongoing multi-agency investigation encompasses scrutiny of up to 12-13 suspects, including potential reconnaissance by the attackers, recovery of empty shells and live cartridges at the scene where Lohia was found in a pool of blood, and deeper inquiries into foreign-based gangsters alongside jailed operatives, amid a backdrop of prior related violence including a May 2025 murder that heightened familial tensions leading to this retaliatory onslaught.
