#BreakingNews: J&K Police Raid 200 Jamaat-e-Islami Sites in Kulgam After Delhi Blast
Massive raids seize terror-linked devices in Kulgam.
Jammu and Kashmir police launched a comprehensive crackdown in Kulgam district on Wednesday, raiding over 200 locations connected to the banned Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) and confiscating incriminating documents, digital devices, and other evidence. The large-scale operation was triggered by the recent Delhi car blast and the dismantling of an interstate militant module, with the primary objective of disrupting grassroots terror networks and their support infrastructure across the region.
Over the past four days, security forces executed more than 400 Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) throughout Kulgam, systematically targeting residences of JeI members, overground workers (OGWs), former encounter sites, and known militant hideouts. Approximately 500 individuals affiliated with JeI, JKNOPs, and other banned organizations were interrogated, and many were detained under preventive laws before being transferred to District Jail Mattan in Anantnag for further legal action.
The raids specifically focused on homes and establishments of JeI associates, including senior leaders imprisoned since the 2019 central government ban. Police stated that the seized materials will help trace funding sources, recruitment chains, and communication networks sustaining militancy. This effort is part of a broader strategy to eliminate ideological and logistical support for terrorism at the local level.

Coordinated raids were also conducted in neighboring Shopian district targeting JeI activists and their networks. Security measures have been significantly strengthened across Jammu and Kashmir, including intensified vehicle checks, surprise CASOs, and round-the-clock surveillance in vulnerable areas following the deadly explosion in the national capital.
The crackdown demonstrates a firm zero-tolerance approach toward banned organizations and their enablers. With hundreds detained and critical evidence secured, authorities aim to sever local terror ecosystems, prevent potential attacks, and ensure sustained peace and stability in the region.
