The examination, known as the Jharkhand Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination-2023, was conducted as part of the recruitment process for graduate-level government positions in the State. Allegations of irregularities surrounding the examination subsequently led to an investigation by the CID. The agency has been examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged misconduct and the role of individuals suspected of being connected to the case.

The latest arrest is part of a series of apprehensions made by the investigation agency since August 18. With nine people now arrested, the CID's inquiry has expanded to cover multiple individuals allegedly linked to the irregularities. The JSSC examination has attracted attention because of its connection to recruitment for government positions and the importance of maintaining fairness in competitive examinations. Such examinations are used to select candidates on the basis of their qualifications and performance, making the integrity of the process an important concern for both candidates and authorities.

The CID's investigation is expected to examine how the alleged irregularities occurred and whether more people were involved. Investigators will also have to establish the specific roles played by those arrested and determine the extent of any suspected wrongdoing. Details of the latest arrest and the evidence against the individual were not immediately available in the information released by the agency.

The arrests represent the latest development in the ongoing probe into the alleged examination irregularities. The CID has so far arrested nine people since August 18, while the investigation into the 2024 examination conducted by the JSSC continues. Further developments are expected as investigators examine available evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged irregularities.
