Jalna Shocker! 22-Year-Old Smashes Mother-in-Law's Head in Gruesome Murder
Jalna Shocker: 22-Year-Old Slays Mother-in-Law in Rage, Nabbed After Botched Body Dump
A grisly murder unfolded in Maharashtra’s Jalna district Tuesday night when 22-year-old Pratiksha Shingare allegedly killed her 45-year-old mother-in-law, Savita Shingare, after a heated spat.
The young woman, arrested Wednesday in neighboring Parbhani city, now faces a deepening police probe into a crime that’s stunned the quiet Priyadarshni Colony.
The horror began in their rented home, where Pratiksha, married just six months to Akash Shingare—a Latur-based company worker—lived alone with Savita. Police say a late-night argument spiraled into violence around 10 PM on April 1, 2025.
"She grabbed Savita’s head, smashed it against a wall, then stabbed her with a kitchen knife," said Sub-Inspector Rajendra Wagh. Savita succumbed to massive head trauma, confirmed by a preliminary autopsy.
Panicked, Pratiksha stuffed the body into a bag, intending to ditch it. But the corpse proved too heavy. By 6 AM Wednesday, she abandoned the plan, fled the scene, and hopped a train to Parbhani, her hometown. Back in Jalna, the landlord stumbled upon the grim discovery later that morning—blood seeping from the bag—and called the cops.
Jalna police launched a swift manhunt, nabbing Pratiksha in Parbhani within hours. "She couldn’t outrun us," Wagh added, noting the arrest came by Wednesday afternoon, April 2. Additional SP Ayush Nopany briefed reporters, hinting at simmering tensions between the women, though the exact trigger remains under wraps as the investigation digs deeper.
