J-K Police Bust Online Heroin Racket: Udhampur Peddler Nabbed

Jammu and Kashmir Police have dismantled a sophisticated online heroin supply network with the arrest of a peddler, Arif Hussain, in Udhampur district on Wednesday. The breakthrough occurred during a routine check at Jakheni, where a police team intercepted Hussain, a resident of Doda, and recovered an unspecified quantity of heroin in his possession, according to official sources.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Hussain operated a clandestine drug network using digital platforms, sharing precise delivery locations with customers and receiving payments directly into his bank account to evade traditional tracking methods. This modern approach to drug trafficking highlights the growing challenge of online narcotics trade in the region.

Authorities have launched a comprehensive probe to uncover the full extent of the heroin supply racket, with expectations of additional arrests in the coming days. The police have also urged the public to report any information about similar networks to their nearest station, emphasizing community cooperation in combating the drug menace.
