IndiGo Aircraft Isolated At Kolkata Airport Following Bomb Threat
Security protocols triggered after bomb threat to Shillong-bound IndiGo flight at Kolkata airport.
A Shillong-bound flight operated by IndiGo was moved to an isolation bay at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport on Saturday following a bomb threat, airport officials confirmed. The aircraft was preparing for departure when authorities initiated emergency security protocols.
According to airport sources, the threat was received shortly before takeoff, prompting immediate coordination between airline staff, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and local police. Passengers were safely deboarded, and the aircraft was shifted to a designated isolation area as a precautionary measure.
Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft, baggage compartments, and cargo hold. Officials said the move to the isolation bay is a standard operating procedure in such situations to minimize risk and ensure passenger safety while investigations are underway.
