Hyderabad Tragedy: Mother Pushes 7-Year-Old Daughter from Building, Girl Dies During Treatment

Woman allegedly pushes 7-year-old daughter from third floor in Hyderabad; child dies, mother said to be mentally unstable.

In a shocking incident in Hyderabad, a seven-year-old girl was allegedly pushed from the third floor of a residential building by her mother, police officials reported on Tuesday. The child, identified as Sharon Mary, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad.

The incident took place on Monday evening in Vasanthapuri Colony, under the jurisdiction of the Malkajgiri police station of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate. According to authorities, the girl fell on the stairs of an adjoining building, sustaining grievous injuries. The mother, Monalisa, is reportedly mentally unstable, and police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

The family has reportedly lived in Vasanthapuri Colony for the past 20 years. Monalisa’s husband works in a private company. Authorities are currently probing the circumstances leading to the incident to determine the exact motive and ensure legal proceedings are initiated.

In a separate development, Hyderabad’s North Zone Police successfully solved two theft cases involving domestic servants, recovering gold and silver ornaments valued at nearly ₹31 lakh. These incidents highlight growing concerns over household security and the exploitation of trust by domestic workers.

In one case, maid Uragadda Madhavi and her husband Uragadda Krishnaiah were arrested for stealing gold ornaments and gold biscuits from a jeweller’s house in Bowenpalli. The accused reportedly melted part of the stolen gold to create personal ornaments. They led police to the recovery of 24.2 tulas of gold, including melted pieces.

In another case under the Bollarum police limits, maid Jajala Sindhu was arrested for stealing gold and silver from the house where she was employed. Police have urged citizens to verify the backgrounds of domestic workers thoroughly and to secure valuables, emphasizing vigilance to prevent such crimes.
