Hyderabad Engineer Accumulates Massive Property Portfolio Worth Over ₹100 Crore, Probe Finds
Hyderabad engineer found with assets exceeding ₹100 crore.
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested B Ravinder, chief engineer of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), in a disproportionate assets case after conducting extensive searches at his residence, office and multiple locations linked to his relatives, associates and suspected benamidars. The raids uncovered a significant collection of movable and immovable assets, with officials estimating that the market value of the properties could exceed ₹100 crore.
The ACB carried out simultaneous searches at Ravinder’s premises and nine other locations as part of an investigation into allegations that he accumulated assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. According to officials, the assets recovered during the operation were valued at approximately ₹9.24 crore based on registration records. However, considering the rapid increase in real estate prices in Hyderabad’s western growth corridor, investigators believe the current market value of some properties could be significantly higher.
During the raids, officials reportedly found several high-value properties, including five open plots located in Kondakal, Kistapur and Pasamaila areas of Ranga Reddy district. The seized properties also include four residential flats in the prime locations of Narsingi and Nanakramguda, areas that have witnessed major real estate development due to their proximity to Hyderabad’s information technology and financial districts.

The ACB also identified other assets, including four acres of agricultural land at Gudur village near Shamshabad, a 300-square-yard semi-finished villa at Mokila and a G+4 commercial-cum-residential building at Masjid Banda in Kondapur. These locations are considered among Hyderabad’s fast-growing real estate zones, where property values have increased substantially in recent years due to infrastructure expansion and urban development.
Apart from immovable assets, investigators recovered several forms of movable wealth during the searches. The ACB said it seized ₹3.82 lakh in cash, bank deposits worth ₹45.05 lakh, gold ornaments weighing 1.44 kg valued at around ₹36.7 lakh, and silver articles weighing 12.5 kg estimated to be worth ₹10 lakh. Officials also recovered household items valued at ₹17.24 lakh and electronic gadgets worth ₹9.32 lakh.
The raids further revealed ownership of four luxury vehicles, including an Innova HyCross, Tata Safari, Innova Crysta and Mahindra XUV, with their combined value estimated at ₹1.16 crore. The ACB is examining the source of funds used for acquiring these assets and is expected to conduct further investigations into financial transactions, property ownership records and possible involvement of other individuals.
The arrest of the senior HMDA official comes as part of the state’s continued efforts to crack down on corruption and cases involving alleged accumulation of wealth beyond lawful income. The ACB is expected to continue its probe to determine whether additional assets or financial irregularities are linked to Ravinder. Further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation and the evidence collected during the searches.
