Huge Drug Bust! Punjab Police Seize 18kg of Heroin; Nab Pak-Linked Smuggler
Punjab Police Seize 18.22kg Heroin, Arrest Smuggler Linked to Pakistan
In a major crackdown, Punjab’s Anti-Narcotics Task Force seized 18.22 kg of heroin and arrested Hira Singh in Khaira village, under Gharinda police station, Amritsar.
The operation exposed Singh’s deep ties to Pakistan-based smugglers and anti-national elements, marking a significant blow to cross-border drug trafficking.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav announced the bust, stating, “The Border Range team apprehended Hira Singh and recovered 18.227 kg of heroin in a precision strike.”
Initial probes reveal Singh and his associate, Kulwinder Singh of Dauke village, were smuggling heroin under the direction of a Pakistan-based trafficker known as Billa.
Raids are underway to capture Kulwinder, with police tracing the duo’s network to dismantle the entire syndicate. “We’re working relentlessly to crush this drug ring,” Yadav said, reaffirming Punjab Police’s commitment to a drug-free state.
The seizure highlights the force’s intensified efforts to curb narcotics flowing across the border.
