Horror in Thane! Man Arrested for Raping, Impregnating 13-Year-Old Cancer Patient

A 29-year-old man from Bihar was arrested on Thursday for allegedly raping and impregnating a 13-year-old cancer patient in Maharashtra’s Thane district, police reported on Saturday.

The accused, hailing from the same village as the victim’s family, had facilitated their move to Badlapur two months ago, arranging rented accommodation and aiding her treatment.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Shailesh Kale revealed that the man exploited the girl’s vulnerability, assaulting her three times when she was alone at home. The minor, battling cancer, was undergoing chemotherapy in a Mumbai hospital when a routine checkup uncovered her pregnancy, triggering outrage and a swift police response.

Senior Inspector Kiran Balwadkar stated, “He was trusted to help with her care, but instead, he raped her repeatedly, leading to her pregnancy.” A case has been filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The accused, nabbed in Bihar, is now in judicial custody as investigations deepen.
