Himanshi Khurana Faces Rs 10 Crore Extortion Threat from Gangster

Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurana receives Rs 10 crore extortion threat from foreign-based gangster via email.

Punjabi actress and model Himanshi Khurana has approached the Mohali police alleging that she received an extortion threat demanding ₹10 crore. According to officials, the threat was sent via email and allegedly included a voice note from a foreign-based gangster. Acting on her complaint, the police have registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The FIR has been lodged at Sohana police station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 308(4) pertaining to extortion and 351(3) related to criminal intimidation. Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Saurav Jindal confirmed that authorities are working to trace the origin of the email and authenticate the voice message attached to it. Cybercrime units are also expected to assist in tracking the digital trail.

Police officials stated that appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. They added that security measures may be reviewed depending on the threat assessment. The case has once again highlighted concerns over extortion attempts targeting prominent personalities in the Punjabi entertainment industry.

Himanshi Khurana is widely known for her work in Punjabi cinema and music videos. She gained recognition for her role in the 2013 Punjabi film Sadda Haq and later achieved nationwide popularity after participating in Bigg Boss. Over the years, she has built a strong presence in the regional film and music industry.

The incident follows a similar complaint filed last month by Punjabi singer Dilnoor, who alleged that he received a threatening call demanding ₹10 crore from noted singer B Praak. Authorities are examining whether there is any connection between the cases as part of broader efforts to curb organised extortion threats targeting artists and public figures.
