#JustIn: Haryana Police Seize 2,563 kg Explosives From Another Kashmiri Doctor’s Faridabad Residence

Massive terror haul from J&K doctor's Haryana hideout shocks nation.

Haryana Police uncovered 2,563 kilograms of suspected ammonium nitrate explosives from a rented house in Faridabad's Fatehpur Taga village on November 10, 2025, just hours after seizing 350 kilograms of similar material from another location. The second site, owned by a local maulana who was detained earlier in the day, was linked to Dr. Mujammil Shakeel, a Pulwama native from Jammu and Kashmir, marking him as a pivotal figure in an alleged white-collar terror network infiltrating professional circles.

Dr. Shakeel, employed as a doctor at Al Falah Medical College and Hospital in Faridabad, had been under custody for the past 10 days following intelligence leads from the interrogation of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, another Kashmiri physician arrested in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for erecting Jaish-e-Mohammed propaganda posters in Srinagar. The initial raid on Sunday at Shakeel's three-and-a-half-year rental in Dhoj village yielded not only the 350 kg explosives but also 20 timers, four battery-operated detonators, a Krinkov assault rifle with 83 live rounds, a pistol with magazines, and components for improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

Joint teams from Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana's Economic Offences Wing, acting on Rather's disclosures tying the duo to Jaish-e-Mohammed activities, have intensified raids across multiple states. Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta revealed that investigations are probing the explosives' origins, smuggling routes, and end-use, with both doctors facing rigorous questioning to uncover sleeper cell connections in northern India. The hauls, described as among the largest in recent years, include over 2,900 kg of IED precursors like chemicals, reagents, electronic circuits, remote controls, batteries, wires, and metal fragments.

The broader crackdown has netted seven arrests, including the maulana and two more operatives in Kashmir, exposing a sophisticated module involved in radicalization, recruitment, fundraising, and logistics for proscribed outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Coordinated searches in Srinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Shopian, Saharanpur, and Faridabad have also recovered two AK-series rifles, pistols, and incriminating documents, highlighting how radicalized professionals—often in sensitive roles—facilitate covert operations far from conflict zones.

As forensic analysis of the ammonium nitrate—commonly used in bombings—progresses, authorities warn of potential threats to urban centers near Delhi, vowing to dismantle this insidious ecosystem. The case underscores vulnerabilities in vetting high-skill migrants and the urgent need for enhanced intelligence sharing, with Shakeel's dual life as a healer and alleged handler raising alarms about terror's evolving, sophisticated face in India.
