Gurugram Woman Riding Sports Bike Hit By Car After Confronting Driver Over Roadside Proximity

A woman riding a sports motorcycle in Gurugram was allegedly hit by a car after she asked its driver to stay away from her, according to her account of the incident. The collision reportedly took place on Golf Course Road on Sunday, with the impact throwing the rider off her motorcycle. Her bike was allegedly dragged along the road for several metres before the car drove away. A video of the incident was later shared on social media and quickly went viral, prompting users to call for action against the driver. The rider, who identifies herself as Sia and runs the Instagram page ‘rebelwheels_sia_’, said she was riding her Aprilia RS 457 with members of her biking group when the incident occurred.

In a video posted online, she described what she said happened during the ride and alleged that the occupants of the car had been trying to chase her from the beginning of her journey. According to her account, the behaviour of the car occupants made her uncomfortable and led her to ask the driver to maintain a safe distance from her motorcycle. Sia alleged that the situation escalated after she confronted the driver. She said the car subsequently struck her motorcycle, causing her to lose control and fall onto the road. The impact also reportedly caused the motorcycle to be dragged for a few metres. She further alleged that the driver did not stop after the collision and instead left the area.

The account has not been independently established, and the circumstances leading to the collision would need to be determined through an official investigation and other available evidence. Sharing the video and describing her experience, Sia said she felt unsafe while travelling on Gurugram's roads. “I have nothing to say, but today I felt unsafe on Gurugram roads. People like these aren't afraid of hitting people and running away,” she said. Her comments accompanied footage showing the aftermath of the incident and drew considerable attention online. The video gave social media users a visual account of the collision and the condition of the motorcycle following the alleged impact.
