Gurugram Hit-And-Run Victim Sia Demands Strict Action, Says Bainsla's Arrest Not Enough

Shivani Chauhan, popularly known as Sia, the biker who was allegedly hit by a speeding car in an on-camera hit-and-run incident in Gurugram, has said that the arrest of accused Kalyan Bainsla is not enough. She demanded strict action against Bainsla and others who were allegedly present in the vehicle, describing the incident as an attempt on her life rather than a routine road accident.

Sia spoke to the media on Tuesday night, September 15, after recording her statement in the district court. She said the investigation should not end with the arrest of one person and that all individuals allegedly involved in the incident must be held accountable if their role is established. Her remarks came amid public attention over a video that purportedly captured the speeding vehicle hitting her motorcycle on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road.

The incident gained widespread attention after footage of the alleged collision surfaced on social media. The video showed Sia riding a bike when she was reportedly struck by the car. The circumstances surrounding the incident, including what happened before and after the collision and the conduct of those inside the vehicle, are being examined as part of the ongoing case.

Sia also responded to comments made by Kamal, the cousin of accused Kalyan Bainsla, who had allegedly claimed that she was “playing the victim card”. Rejecting the remark, Sia maintained that she had suffered as a result of the incident and that the seriousness of the allegations should not be diluted by personal comments or attempts to question her account.

The biker’s demand for strict action reflects her insistence that the case be treated as a serious criminal matter. She has sought accountability not only for the person accused of driving the car but also for anyone else whose involvement may emerge during the investigation. The police and investigating authorities are expected to establish the sequence of events and determine the responsibility of each person allegedly connected to the incident.

The case continues to draw attention because the alleged hit-and-run was recorded on camera and circulated widely online. While Bainsla’s arrest marks a development in the investigation, Sia has made it clear that she wants the proceedings to continue until the full circumstances are established and appropriate legal action is taken against all those found responsible.
