Gangsters Target YouTuber Elvish Yadav’s Gurugram Home in Brazen Shooting

Himanshu Bhau gang claims responsibility, cites betting app promotion

A shocking early morning attack on Sunday saw three masked gunmen unleash over two dozen bullets at the Sector 56 residence of controversial YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram, Haryana. The notorious Himanshu Bhau gang, led by Portugal-based gangster Himanshu Bhau, alias Bhau Ritoliya, claimed responsibility, naming Neeraj Faridpuria and Inderjit Yadav as key orchestrators. The gang accused Yadav of promoting illegal betting apps, alleging he “ruined many homes” in a chilling social media post featuring a two-pistol graphic and the tag “Bhau Gang Since 2020.”

CCTV footage captured the assailants arriving on a motorcycle around 5:30 am, with two firing at the ground and first floors before fleeing. Yadav, who resides on the second and third floors, was not home, and his family escaped unharmed. “We were sleeping when the shots rang out. No prior threats were received,” said Ram Avtar Yadav, Elvish’s father, noting the attack’s intent to intimidate.

The Gangsters Behind the Attack

  • Neeraj Faridpuria: A Palwal, Haryana native now based in the US, Faridpuria faces over 25 criminal cases. Arrested in 2012 after a police encounter, he was sentenced to life for murder in 2015 but secured bail in 2019. Implicated in the 2019 murder of Congress spokesperson Vikas Chaudhary, he fled to Canada via Dubai, briefly leading the Bambiha gang—rivals of Lawrence Bishnoi—before joining Bhau’s syndicate.

  • Himanshu Bhau (Bhau Ritoliya): The 21-year-old mastermind from Ritoli village, Rohtak, operates from Portugal after fleeing India via Dubai on a fake passport. Wanted in over 30 cases, including murder and extortion, Bhau’s gang is notorious for violent acts in Delhi-NCR, including a recent attack on singer Rahul Fazilpuria. An Interpol Red Corner Notice has been issued against him.

  • Inderjit Yadav: A Haryana-based gangster also in the US, Yadav is a key Bhau associate. He was linked to Fazilpuria’s attack and the recent murder of a Rohtak financier, showcasing the gang’s growing influence.

The Bhau gang, active since 2020, has targeted high-profile figures to expand its reach through fear. Recent incidents include shootings at a Delhi Burger King and a Tilak Nagar car showroom. Delhi Police arrested two Bhau gang members in Narela on Saturday after a shootout, signaling intensified efforts to curb their activities.

Gurugram Police are reviewing CCTV footage and have promised swift action once a formal complaint is filed. The attack has sparked outrage on X, with users demanding better security for public figures and questioning Haryana’s law enforcement. Elvish Yadav’s family denies his involvement in betting, calling the allegations baseless.

As investigations deepen, the incident underscores the escalating threat of organized crime targeting influencers, raising urgent questions about public safety and the dark side of online fame.
