Fire Erupts At Congress Leader’s Amethi Hotel, Brought Under Control
A short circuit sparks a hotel blaze in Amethi; the fire is contained, and no casualties are reported.
A fire broke out at Naina Resorts, a hotel owned by Amethi Congress district president Pradeep Singhal, in the Bahadurpur area of Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, in the early hours of Tuesday. The blaze, reported at approximately 3:30 AM, originated in a storeroom on the third floor of the hotel, according to local fire officials. Swift action by fire tenders and the hotel’s internal fire safety system prevented the flames from spreading, ensuring no loss of life or injuries, authorities confirmed.
The response to the fire was immediate, with multiple fire tenders dispatched to the scene to assist the hotel’s firefighting equipment in containing the blaze. Pradeep Singhal, a prominent local Congress leader, told PTI that the fire was likely caused by a short circuit, though a formal investigation is underway to ascertain the precise cause. The confined nature of the fire limited damage to the storeroom, and preliminary assessments suggest the structural integrity of Naina Resorts remains intact, allowing for a potential swift resumption of operations pending safety clearances.
Amethi, a constituency long associated with the Congress party and previously represented by leaders like Rahul Gandhi, remains a politically significant region in Uttar Pradesh. The incident at Singhal’s hotel has drawn attention due to his role as a key figure in the local Congress unit. Authorities have commended the hotel’s preparedness, noting that its fire safety measures played a critical role in averting a larger disaster. Guests and staff were safely evacuated, and no disruptions to public safety in the surrounding area were reported.
