FBI Releases Surveillance Images In Charlie Kirk Utah Shooting Case
Authorities seek tips; a $100,000 reward is offered for information on the suspect at large.
The FBI and Utah authorities have released new surveillance images of a person of interest in the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. The photos, captured from campus cameras, show a college-aged individual wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, a black backpack, and a shirt with an American flag design, moving through a stairwell before the shooting. The FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect, who remains at large.
Kirk, a prominent ally of President Donald Trump and founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot by a single bullet fired from the rooftop of the university’s Losee Center, approximately 100-200 yards from where he was speaking in a courtyard. Graphic videos circulating on social media captured the moment Kirk, addressing social issues, was struck in the neck, prompting panic among spectators. Authorities believe the shooter, described as blending into the campus crowd due to their “college-age” appearance, fled through a wooded area after jumping from the roof.
Investigators recovered a high-powered bolt-action rifle, believed to be the murder weapon, wrapped in a towel in a nearby wooded area. A spent cartridge and three additional rounds were found in the magazine, and the weapon is undergoing forensic analysis at a federal lab. Additional evidence, including a footwear impression and a forearm imprint, is also being examined. FBI Salt Lake City Special Agent Robert Bohls described the attack as a “targeted event” but noted that no suspect has been named, and the motive remains unclear.
