Farmer Leader Urges Karnataka Government to Step up Rural Police Patrolling

Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangh honorary president Chamarasa Malipatil has urged the State government to immediately strengthen police patrolling and beat systems in rural areas to prevent crimes. Addressing a press conference in Raichur, he raised concerns over what he described as a rise in violent offences across the district and called for stronger policing in vulnerable rural areas.

Malipatil referred to several serious crimes reported in Deodurg, Sirwar and Lingsugur taluks while highlighting concerns over the safety of rural residents. He particularly pointed to the recent incident in Hokrani village, where a Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped and murdered. He described the incident as a serious indication of the security challenges faced by vulnerable communities.

The farmer leader said the Hokrani incident should be viewed as a direct challenge to the efficiency of the State Home Department. He called for greater police presence in villages and regular beat patrols to deter criminal activity. According to him, stronger preventive policing could help identify potential threats earlier and improve the sense of security among people living in rural areas.

Malipatil also referred to the reported murder of three members of the Dalit community, including two women, as part of his concerns over violent crime in the district. He stressed that incidents involving vulnerable sections of society require prompt attention from the administration and police. He urged authorities to ensure that rural areas receive adequate policing rather than focusing security resources primarily on urban centres.

The KRRS leader's demand comes amid concerns over law and order in parts of Raichur district. Regular patrolling and beat policing are intended to increase police visibility, strengthen contact between officers and local communities and help deter offences. Malipatil called on the government to treat the reported increase in violent crimes as a matter requiring immediate administrative attention.

He urged the State government and Home Department to take concrete measures to strengthen security in villages and ensure that people feel protected. The demand includes increased police patrols and beat activity in rural areas, particularly in places where residents may be vulnerable to crime. Malipatil said effective preventive policing was necessary to curb violent offences and improve confidence in the law-and-order system.
