Ex-VP Naidu Tours RSS’ New Delhi Office
Venkaiah Naidu tours revamped RSS office, praises design.
Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu visited the newly renovated Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) office at Keshav Kunj in New Delhi, marking his first tour of the upgraded facility. Accompanied by friends Shri Tummala Ranga Rao and Dr. Kamineni Srinivas, Naidu engaged with senior RSS functionaries, commending the office’s blend of classical Indian architecture and modern amenities.
In a post on X, he shared, “What is impressive about the building is the classical Indian architecture along with the modern facilities and amenities it provides,” alongside pictures of the visit.
The revamped Keshav Kunj, sprawling across 3.75 acres in Jhandewalan, features three 12-storey towers—Sadhna, Prerna, and Archana—housing 300 rooms, two advanced auditoriums, a library with over 8,500 books, a five-bed hospital, and a Hanuman temple.
The Rs 150-crore project, funded by 75,000 donors, incorporates sustainable features like solar power and a sewage treatment system, with architectural elements inspired by Gujarati and Rajasthani traditions. Construction, delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic, began in 2018 and was completed recently, with the RSS gradually relocating from a rented space at Udasin Ashram.
Naidu’s visit underscores his long-standing association with the RSS, which he has previously described as embodying self-discipline, social reform, and selfless service. As a former BJP leader and Vice President from 2017 to 2022, Naidu has often defended the organization, calling it a victim of misinformation.
The visit highlights the RSS’s growing presence in the capital, with the new headquarters designed to serve as a hub for its ideological and organizational activities.
