Ex-Army Man Killed, 2 Injured In SUV Hit-And-Run; Vehicle Abandoned
Ex-Army man killed and two injured in SUV hit-and-run.
A 47-year-old former Indian Army serviceman was killed and two others were injured after a Mahindra XUV allegedly travelling on the wrong side of the road hit three two-wheelers in Hydershakote near Hyderabad early Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Ravinder, who had previously served as a subedar in the Indian Army. The two injured victims are undergoing treatment.
According to Narsingi Inspector D Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, the accident occurred at around 5.30 am when the SUV, travelling in the wrong direction, collided with three motorcycles. All three riders sustained injuries in the crash, but Ravinder later succumbed to his injuries. Police have begun investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.
The SUV was reportedly badly damaged in the accident, but its driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle some distance away from the crash site and fled. Preliminary investigation has indicated that two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. Police are examining CCTV footage and other available evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine who was driving the SUV.

The vehicle has reportedly been registered in the name of B Kranthi Goud. Police have also found three pending traffic challans associated with the SUV, including violations related to speeding and wrong parking. Investigators are checking the available records as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the vehicle's movement before the accident.
It has not yet been established whether the driver had consumed alcohol at the time of the crash. Police are examining the evidence gathered from the accident site and the damaged SUV as part of their investigation. The two injured persons remain under medical care, while authorities are working to identify and trace the driver who allegedly fled after abandoning the vehicle.
A case has been registered at Narsingi police station in connection with the accident, and further investigation is underway. Police are continuing to analyse CCTV footage and other evidence to identify the person responsible for driving the SUV and determine the exact sequence of events that resulted in the death of the former serviceman and injuries to the two other riders.
