Employee Opens Fire at San Antonio Company, Kills Three Coworkers Before Suicide

San Antonio gunman targets colleagues in deadly rampage.

A 21-year-old employee identified as Jose Hernandez Galo opened fire at a landscape supply company in north San Antonio early Saturday morning, fatally shooting three coworkers before turning the gun on himself in a devastating act of workplace violence. The incident unfolded around 8 a.m. inside the business premises, sending terrified staff members sprinting for safety as gunfire echoed through the facility.

San Antonio Police Department confirmed that the victims included two men and one woman, all colleagues of the gunman. Responding officers swiftly secured the perimeter and conducted a thorough search of the building. Hours after the initial chaos, authorities discovered Galo suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, bringing the total death toll to four.

Police Chief William McManus addressed reporters at a Saturday news conference, emphasizing that the attack was targeted and not a random act of violence. While investigators have yet to establish a definitive motive, early indications suggest a possible personal or professional grievance may have fueled the shooter’s actions. Detectives continued gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses throughout Sunday to piece together the sequence of events.

The tragedy has left the tight-knit San Antonio community in shock, with coworkers describing a normally routine Saturday shift that spiraled into unimaginable horror. Some employees managed to escape through side exits and hide in nearby areas until law enforcement declared the scene safe. Local counseling services have been mobilized to support traumatized staff and families of the victims.

As the investigation progresses, authorities are reviewing security footage, employee records, and digital communications to uncover any warning signs that may have been overlooked. The incident marks another grim chapter in America’s ongoing struggle with workplace shootings, prompting renewed calls for enhanced mental health support and conflict resolution protocols in professional environments.
