Tragic truck crash in Indore claims third victim.

A devastating incident in Indore has left the city reeling as the death toll from a truck rampage on Aerodrome Road climbed to three on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. The tragedy unfolded on Monday night when an out-of-control truck, driven by an allegedly intoxicated driver, plowed through pedestrians, collided with vehicles, and burst into flames on one of the city’s busiest roads.

The latest victim, Mahesh Khatwase (54), succumbed to his injuries in a private hospital, as confirmed by Additional Commissioner of Police Amit Singh. Two others, Laxmikant Soni (50) and Kailashchandra Joshi (62), were killed instantly at the scene. The crash also left 11 others injured, with two in critical condition, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Shrikrishna Lalchandani.

The accused driver, Gulsher (50), from Dhar district, was arrested and is under interrogation. Authorities confirmed he was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident, fueling public outrage. Locals expressed fury over the presence of a heavy commercial vehicle on Aerodrome Road, where such vehicles are prohibited. Crowds gathered at the accident site and nearby hospitals, chanting slogans against the police and administration, questioning how the truck was allowed to enter the restricted area despite traffic police presence at key intersections.
