Delhi Police crack murder case within 24 hours, arrest three.
Delhi Police have solved a murder case within 18 hours of the crime, arresting three accused persons in connection with the stabbing of a 20-year-old man in northeast Delhi’s New Usmanpur area. The victim, identified as Toheed, was found dead in a Delhi Development Authority (DDA) park early on Saturday with multiple stab wounds. Police also recovered the weapon used in the crime, a knife, during the investigation.
According to officials, Toheed, a resident of K-Block in New Seelampur, worked as a labourer for a scrap dealer in the area. He had reportedly left home the previous night for work but did not return. His body was discovered the following morning in a blood-covered condition, following which he was rushed to JPC Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
A case was registered at New Usmanpur Police Station under relevant sections of law, and multiple police teams were formed to investigate the incident. Officials said forensic experts examined the crime scene and collected crucial evidence, while police teams worked on leads from local intelligence and technical inputs to identify those involved in the murder.

During the investigation, police identified and arrested three accused — Shahnawaz (21), Noor Hasan (20) and Anas (21), all residents of jhuggie settlements in Seelampur. Interrogation revealed that the accused had an earlier altercation with the victim, which allegedly escalated into a planned act of revenge.
Police said the accused confessed to luring Toheed to a park, where they attacked him with a knife. The motive, according to investigators, stemmed from a previous dispute in which the victim had allegedly slapped one of the accused and issued threats. One of the arrested individuals, Shahnawaz, also has a prior criminal record involving a robbery case. Authorities confirmed that the murder weapon has been recovered and further investigation is underway to verify additional details and examine the role of each accused in the crime.
