Delhi Police Detain Influencer ‘The Skin Doctor’ In Ongoing Investigation

Delhi Police arrested influencer ‘The Skin Doctor’ in case.

A social media influencer known as “The Skin Doctor” has been arrested by Delhi Police over allegedly objectionable social media posts linked to the ongoing legal dispute involving the late businessman Sunjay Kapur’s family. The accused has been identified as Dr Neelam Singh, who presents himself online as a dermatologist and socio-politically aware commentator.

According to police sources cited by PTI, a complaint was filed at the Vasant Kunj police station on behalf of the Kapur family, prompting an investigation into the posts. Acting on the complaint, Delhi Police detained Singh on Wednesday and initiated legal proceedings. The case is understood to be connected to tweets that allegedly contained remarks questioning the legitimacy of statements made by members of the Kapur family in relation to the disputed will.

Officials said Singh, who runs social media accounts under the handle “The Skin Doctor,” describes himself on YouTube as a “dermatologist speaking on social issues,” while his Instagram bio refers to him as a “socio-politically aware dermatologist.” His online posts reportedly included comments that raised questions about the authenticity of Sunjay Kapur’s will and the circumstances surrounding its execution.

Following his arrest, Singh was questioned by investigators and later released on bail approximately five hours after being taken into custody. Senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, responding on social media, described the arrest as part of a “baseless and frivolous case,” though authorities have not publicly commented on the legal merits of that claim. The investigation remains ongoing.

The case arises amid a high-profile legal battle over the late businessman Sunjay Kapur’s estimated ₹30,000-crore estate, which is currently being examined by the Supreme Court of India. The dispute has drawn widespread attention due to the scale of the inheritance and conflicting claims raised by family members regarding trust structures and the validity of documents related to the estate.During recent hearings, the Supreme Court reportedly compared the intensity of the dispute to the Mahabharata, with observations noting the complexity and scale of the conflict.

The court is examining multiple allegations and procedural questions tied to the family trust and governance of associated corporate assets.Legal proceedings in the estate matter are ongoing, with the next hearing scheduled for May 14. Meanwhile, the arrest of the influencer has added a fresh layer of public attention to an already widely followed legal and financial dispute, highlighting the increasing scrutiny of social media commentary in sensitive legal matters.
