CM Chandrababu Naidu Asks MPs To Highlight State Issues In Parliament
Naidu asks MPs to raise state issues.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu has directed party MPs to strongly raise issues related to the state during the upcoming Parliament session while maintaining coordination with the central government and NDA allies. Naidu held a meeting with the TDP Parliamentary Party on Friday at his camp office in Undavalli, where he discussed key issues expected to come up during the session. During the meeting, Naidu briefed MPs on the state government’s priorities and urged them to effectively represent Andhra Pradesh’s concerns in Parliament.
He emphasised the need for MPs to seek greater support from the Centre for development initiatives and ensure that issues affecting the state receive adequate attention at the national level. Naidu also sought feedback from party MPs regarding their position on the Delimitation Bill and the political support being extended to the proposed legislation. The issue has emerged as a major point of discussion among political parties, particularly in southern states, over concerns regarding future representation in Parliament.
The TDP chief further directed Human Resource Development Minister Nara Lokesh to conduct a detailed study of the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill. The proposed legislation seeks to establish a unified regulatory framework for higher education by replacing existing bodies, including the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Naidu instructed MPs to counter opposition criticism on sensitive national issues while maintaining coordination with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and other NDA partners. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of presenting the alliance’s position effectively while continuing to work together on key policy matters. Reviewing Andhra Pradesh’s development priorities, Naidu highlighted his efforts to secure central assistance for major projects, including river interlinking initiatives, the Purvodaya project and Viability Gap Funding for infrastructure development.
He said support from the Centre would be crucial for accelerating growth and implementing large-scale projects in the state. The Chief Minister also asked MPs to raise important state-related matters with central ministries and work towards securing increased financial assistance under centrally sponsored schemes. He urged them to highlight the Andhra Pradesh government’s welfare programmes and development initiatives among the public. The upcoming Parliament session is expected to see discussions on several key national and regional issues, including policy reforms, economic matters and legislative proposals.
For the TDP, which is part of the NDA alliance, maintaining a balance between supporting the central government and advocating for Andhra Pradesh’s interests will remain a key focus. Naidu’s instructions reflect the party’s strategy of using its parliamentary presence to push for greater resources and policy support for the state while continuing its alliance with the BJP-led government at the Centre. TDP MPs are expected to take up these priorities during the session beginning later this month.
