Chandrababu Naidu Reviews Solar Growth, Elvin Plans 1 Million Rooftop Installations In Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has welcomed the rapid growth of the solar energy sector in the state, highlighting its role in boosting investments and generating employment under the government’s renewable energy push.

The remarks came during a meeting in Amaravati on Saturday with Elvin Industries Chairman Vijay Bhaskar, who briefed the Chief Minister on the company’s ongoing solar rooftop initiatives. The company has been actively implementing projects across Andhra Pradesh, contributing to the state’s broader vision of expanding clean energy infrastructure and reducing dependence on conventional power sources.

During the meeting, Vijay Bhaskar outlined Elvin Industries’ ambitious plan to install solar rooftop systems on one million households across the state. He said the initiative aims to promote energy self-reliance among residents while significantly advancing environmental sustainability goals. The project is expected to play a key role in increasing the adoption of renewable energy at the household level.

The company also highlighted its contribution to employment generation, noting that it has already created jobs for around 500 young people. Looking ahead, Elvin Industries plans to generate nearly 20,000 additional employment opportunities in the coming year as it scales up operations and expands its footprint across the state.

Naidu commended the company for maintaining high standards in quality and customer service, while also recognising its achievements in the solar sector, including awards from industry platforms such as EQ Magazine and SolarQuarter. He encouraged the firm to continue its efforts and further strengthen its contribution to the renewable energy ecosystem.

Emphasising the importance of public-private partnerships, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that collaboration between the state government and companies like Elvin Industries would position Andhra Pradesh as a leading hub for green energy in India, aligning with national and global sustainability targets.
