#BreakingNews: JeM Terrorist’s Aide Arrested in Tral; Security Forces Bust Underground Hideout

Security forces bust JeM hideout, arrest terrorist associate in Kashmir.

In a major blow to the Jaish-e-Mohammad terror network in south Kashmir, Awantipora Police, along with the Indian Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles and 180 Battalion CRPF, successfully dismantled a concealed militant hideout and arrested a critical logistical associate of the Pakistan-based outfit on Friday.

The operation was launched following precise intelligence about terrorist presence in the orchards of Naner Midoora village in Tral area of Awantipora. Acting swiftly, joint teams established a tight cordon around the suspected location before initiating a methodical search that led to the detention of Nazir Ahmed Ganai, a resident of Ganai Mohalla Nanar, who had been actively working as an overground worker for JeM operatives.

Under sustained interrogation, the arrested associate revealed the exact location of a meticulously constructed underground hideout in his own orchards. Security forces immediately moved in and unearthed the concealed bunker, recovering two live hand grenades, one detonator, and a quantity of explosive material carefully stashed for future terror operations. The seized items have been sent to forensic laboratories for detailed examination.

Following standard protocol, the hideout was completely destroyed on the spot through a controlled explosion in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses. The demolition ensured that the site could no longer be reused by terrorist elements operating in the sensitive Tral-Awantipora belt, long considered a stronghold of JeM and its affiliates.

Authorities confirmed that Nazir Ahmed Ganai had been providing consistent logistical support, including shelter, transportation of arms and ammunition, and reconnaissance assistance to active JeM terrorists in the region. A formal case has been registered at Awantipora Police Station, and investigators are widening the probe to identify and neutralize other members of the support network. Police have reiterated their resolve to systematically uproot the remaining terror ecosystem and restore lasting peace in the Valley.
