#BreakingNews: Delhi Blast Suspects Met Jaish Handlers; Probe Reveals Terror Plot Across NCR

Probe reveals doctors linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed behind deadly Red Fort suicide blast.

Investigations into the deadly suicide blast near Delhi’s Red Fort have revealed chilling new details, with sources confirming that two of the three suspected doctors linked to the explosion had visited Turkiye to meet their handlers from the Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed. The suspects, identified as Dr Muzammil Shakeel and Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, were arrested in a joint operation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and Haryana Police on Monday. Officials also seized 2,900 kilograms of explosives and an arsenal of weapons, including assault rifles and pistols, from their possession.

The arrests reportedly triggered the blast carried out by Dr Umar Nabi, believed to be the suicide bomber who died in the explosion. According to investigators, the group had been preparing nearly 200 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) for large-scale strikes across Delhi, Gurugram, and Faridabad. Monday’s explosion, which killed 13 people and injured nearly two dozen, was intended as part of a coordinated series of attacks that could have rivaled the 26/11 Mumbai terror strikes. The group’s targets allegedly included high-profile sites such as the Constitution Club, Gaurishankar Temple, and several crowded shopping malls.

Experts at the Maulana Azad Medical College’s forensic department noted cross-injury patterns among victims, suggesting strong blast impact causing blunt trauma, broken bones, and internal injuries. Preliminary tests at the Forensic Science Laboratory revealed that a high-grade explosive compound, in addition to ammonium nitrate, had been used in the i20 car that detonated near the Red Fort metro station. Over 40 material samples, including live rounds and fragments, have been collected for detailed analysis to determine the composition and potential foreign origin of the explosives.

Authorities have now expanded the scope of the investigation to trace digital and financial footprints of the suspects. Police agencies are examining mobile data, call records, and travel logs of all detained individuals, while the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is expected to formally take over the case. Early interrogations indicate the suspects’ involvement in a “white-collar” terror module, which operated under the guise of academia through associations with Al Falah University in Faridabad. The university’s administration has publicly condemned the incident, asserting that its connection with the accused was purely professional.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has temporarily closed the Lal Quila Metro Station as a precautionary measure. Security across the national capital has been heightened, with surveillance intensified in busy commercial areas. The central security agencies remain on alert, as officials fear that remnants of the terror network may still be active in the National Capital Region.
