Bludgeoned To Death! Rajasthan Man Kills Wife, Aunt With Hammer Before Taking Own Life

A chilling tragedy unfolded in Jaipur’s Kardhani area on Monday evening, March 31, 2025, when Pankaj Kumawat, a 36-year-old driver, bludgeoned his pregnant wife Sunita, 33, and aunt Madhu, 55, to death with a hammer before hanging himself.

The gruesome murder-suicide, reported Tuesday, has left the community reeling.

Police say Kumawat attacked Sunita in a fit of rage, striking her head. When Madhu intervened, he turned the hammer on her, killing both women instantly.

His 9-year-old son Yash narrowly escaped the same fate, fleeing with his cousin Himank to alert neighbors. Returning home, they found Kumawat dead by suicide in his room. Station House Officer Sawai Singh confirmed the bodies were sent for post-mortem, with initial inquiries pointing to dire financial strain as the trigger.
