BJP MLA Threatens Cop With "Cow Dung" After Son's Hit-and-Run in Madhya Pradesh

BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi threatens police officer with cow dung after son allegedly hits five people.

A controversy has erupted in Madhya Pradesh after Pritam Lodhi allegedly issued a threat to a police officer following action taken against his son in a hit-and-run case. The remarks came days after his son, Dinesh Lodhi, was accused of driving a Thar SUV into multiple pedestrians near a police station in Shivpuri district.

According to reports, the incident occurred on April 16 when Dinesh Lodhi allegedly rammed his vehicle into five people outside the Karera police station. Eyewitnesses claimed that after the crash, he walked away from the scene and headed to a nearby gym. When police intervened, he allegedly made remarks suggesting he could influence the case due to his father’s political position.

Following the incident, authorities initiated proceedings to cancel Dinesh Lodhi’s driving licence. This move reportedly triggered a strong reaction from Pritam Lodhi, who questioned the source of the directive and warned Karera Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ayush Jakhar of consequences if he did not receive answers within 15 days.

In his remarks, Lodhi allegedly threatened to dump cow dung at the officer’s residence and mobilise large-scale protests. He also made statements asserting his influence and strength, further intensifying the controversy. Despite the remarks, police officer Ayush Jakhar stated that there was no political pressure on the investigation and confirmed that due process was being followed.

The incident has once again brought attention to Lodhi’s history of controversial statements. In the past, he has been criticised for making provocative remarks against officials and political opponents, including threats related to basic services and allegations of conspiracies against him.

Authorities have not indicated any deviation from standard legal procedures in handling the case, and the focus remains on the investigation into the crash and accountability for those involved. The episode has sparked debate over political conduct and the need for adherence to the rule of law in such cases.
