Bihar Man Claims He Was In Russia When Named In NEET Protest Case
Man alleges mistaken identity in NEET protest case.
A resident of Bihar’s Kishanganj district has claimed that he was named in a police case related to protests over the NEET paper leak despite allegedly being outside the country for the past four months. Mohammad Sadaqat made the claim in a video reportedly recorded in Russia, where he said he has been staying during the period when the protest-related case was registered.
The video, which has circulated widely on social media, could not be independently verified by PTI. In the purported recording, Sadaqat questioned how his name was included in the case when he was not present at the protest held in Bahadurganj on July 25. He requested authorities to conduct a fair investigation and remove his name from the FIR if the claim is found to be correct.
Kishanganj Superintendent of Police Hari Mohan Shukla, when contacted, neither confirmed nor rejected Sadaqat’s allegations. The officer said that anyone having grievances related to the cases could approach the police for necessary action and clarification.

The controversy comes after protests were held in Bihar over allegations of irregularities and paper leaks related to the NEET examination. Following the demonstrations, the state government announced that cases registered in connection with the protests would be withdrawn and those arrested would be released.
According to a notification issued by the state Home Department, all FIRs, complaints, and show-cause notices linked to incidents before 6 am on July 26 would be withdrawn. The government also stated that individuals arrested in connection with these incidents would be released.
A total of 694 people, including a large number of minors, were detained for allegedly attempting to enforce a statewide bandh called over the NEET paper leak issue. The latest claim by Sadaqat has raised questions about the verification process involved in registering cases, with authorities expected to examine the matter based on available evidence and records.
