Bihar Man Arrested for Creating AI-Generated Fake Videos of PM Modi, President Murmu
Shocking arrest over fake videos targeting India's top leaders.
Law enforcement authorities in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar executed a swift arrest on Friday, apprehending a local resident accused of employing advanced artificial intelligence tools to generate and widely circulate fabricated videos and audio clips depicting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu in misleading contexts.
The individual identified as Pramod Kumar Raj, hailing from Bhagwanpur village within the jurisdiction of Bochaha police station, allegedly manipulated digital content by artificially replicating the voices, images, and likenesses of the Prime Minister and President, subsequently distributing the deceptive material across various social media platforms.
According to an official police statement, the deliberate creation of this AI-generated misinformation was intended to deceive the general public, diminish the dignity, prestige, and public trust vested in the country's highest constitutional offices, sow seeds of skepticism toward established democratic institutions, and potentially incite disruptions in social harmony and maintenance of law and order.

A criminal case has been formally registered against the accused under applicable sections of law, prompting an ongoing in-depth probe to ascertain any additional involvement or networks, while investigators simultaneously examine Pramod Kumar Raj's prior criminal record to determine if this act aligns with any previous offenses or patterns.
