Bihar Hospital Shooting: Three Nabbed in Bhojpur after Gunfight
Gangster's killers caught in dramatic police encounter
Three suspects linked to the brazen murder of gangster Chandan Mishra at Patna’s Paras Hospital were arrested in Bhojpur district on Tuesday after a fierce gunfight with police. Identified as Balwant Kumar, Raviranjan Kumar Singh, and Abhisekh Kumar, the trio was cornered by a joint team of Bihar’s Special Task Force and district police in the Bihiyan area at 5 a.m., following a tip-off.
The suspects opened fire in an attempt to flee, prompting retaliatory action from the police, who overpowered them. Balwant Kumar and Raviranjan Kumar Singh sustained bullet injuries and are receiving treatment at a government hospital in Ara. No officers were harmed. Police seized three pistols, two magazines, and four cartridges from the scene.
Mishra, a convicted murderer out on parole, was gunned down in the ICU of Paras Hospital on July 17 by five assailants, an incident captured on CCTV. The arrests follow the earlier capture of prime accused Tauseef alias Badshah, his cousin Nishu Khan, Harsh, and Bhim in Kolkata on Saturday.
With seven of the nine suspected conspirators now in custody, police are intensifying efforts to apprehend the remaining two.
