A 26-year-old woman participating in a Home Guard recruitment drive in Bihar’s Gaya district alleged she was gang-raped inside a moving ambulance after collapsing during a physical test on July 24. The incident, reported at Bodh Gaya’s BMP-3 parade ground, occurred while she was being transported to Anugrah Narain Medical College and Hospital.
Gaya Police arrested two suspects—ambulance driver Vinay Kumar and technician Ajit Kumar—within hours of the complaint, following the victim’s identification. SP (Town) Ramanand Kumar Kaushal confirmed the arrests, stating the accused were booked under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita after their responses were deemed unsatisfactory.
