Bengaluru Woman, Brother Stabbed to Death by Minor Amid Family Dispute
Minor allegedly kills woman and brother over family dispute in Bengaluru.
A 36-year-old woman and her younger brother were fatally stabbed by a minor boy in Bengaluru on Thursday, following a dispute over an alleged illicit relationship, police said. The victims were identified as Yamuna and her brother, Sudeep.
According to authorities, Yamuna had been married to Mallegowda for 20 years, and the couple had two children, a 19-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old son. The accused, a 16-year-old boy, allegedly attacked the siblings during a confrontation and is currently at large, with police making efforts to apprehend him.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Peenya police station. Police said that Yamuna and Sudeep had gone to the home of the minor’s mother to question her regarding the alleged illicit relationship involving Mallegowda. A heated argument reportedly ensued, during which the minor allegedly stabbed both Yamuna and Sudeep multiple times with a knife. The victims sustained injuries to the neck, hands, back, and body, and were declared dead at the scene.

Mallegowda told police that tensions between the families had existed for several months over allegations of his involvement with the woman. About three months ago, a previous quarrel had occurred, which was later resolved through a compromise, and both families had visited Byadarahalli Police Station in January. He also stated that he had lent ₹2 lakh to the woman six months ago, which was repaid about 20 days ago.
Despite the repayment, Mallegowda said, his wife continued to confront him over the alleged relationship. However, the FIR noted that there had been no recent disputes before Thursday’s incident.
Police have registered a murder case against three people, including the alleged woman, her son, and another individual. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are coordinating efforts to apprehend the minor accused in the fatal attack.
