Bengaluru Police Investigate Deaths Of Two Children At Five-Star Hotel
Custody dispute emerges as key focus in Bengaluru investigation.
Two children, aged eight and 10, were found dead inside a five-star hotel in Bengaluru after their father allegedly killed them amid a marital dispute and disagreement over their custody, police said on Tuesday. The accused, identified as 45-year-old SG Imran, was found injured inside the hotel room's toilet and was taken to hospital. Police said he is now out of danger.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police GK Mithun, Imran has confessed to killing his daughters and told investigators that a dispute over their custody was a major reason behind the incident. Police also recovered a note allegedly written by Imran, in which he referred to his marital dispute with his wife and his desire to retain custody of the children.
Police said Imran had checked into the hotel with his two daughters on Sunday, with the family expected to check out the following day. When hotel staff attempted to contact them around noon on Monday and received no response, they made further attempts to check on the room. After continued silence, security personnel entered using a master key and found the two children on the bed and Imran injured inside the toilet.

The children were allegedly killed by strangulation, police said, while the exact circumstances of their deaths will be examined further through post-mortem reports. Imran had suffered a serious neck injury and was shifted to a hospital for treatment. Police said his condition is currently stable and that investigators are continuing to examine the evidence collected from the hotel room.
Investigators have also spoken to Imran's wife, who confirmed that the couple had been involved in a marital dispute. Police said they are examining the circumstances surrounding the custody disagreement and other possible angles as part of the investigation. Earlier, police sources had also referred to allegations made by Imran concerning his wife's personal life, although investigators have not indicated that such allegations have been independently established.
The case is being investigated by Bengaluru police, with authorities examining the accused's statement, the recovered note, hotel records and forensic and post-mortem findings. Police have said the investigation will proceed on the basis of the available evidence, including the medical reports, as they seek to establish the full sequence of events inside the hotel room.
