Bengaluru Man Held For Lover’s Murder After Telling Her Parents It Was Suicide
Police say Bengaluru man staged lover’s death as suicide before investigation exposed alleged murder.
A suspected suicide case in Bengaluru has taken a dramatic turn after police investigations revealed that a woman may have been murdered by her lover, who allegedly tried to mislead her family by claiming that she had taken her own life.
According to police officials, the accused man initially contacted the woman’s parents and informed them that their daughter had died by suicide. The claim shocked the family, who believed the woman may have taken the extreme step due to personal issues. However, the circumstances surrounding her death soon raised suspicion among relatives and investigators, prompting authorities to take a closer look at the case.
During the preliminary investigation, police said several inconsistencies began to emerge in the man’s version of events. Officials noted that the condition of the body and the scene did not fully match the account of a suicide. As a result, the case was subjected to a more detailed probe, including forensic analysis and questioning of the accused and people who knew the couple.

Investigators said forensic findings and other evidence indicated that the woman may have been killed before her body was positioned to make the death appear self-inflicted. Police suspect that the accused attempted to stage the scene in order to mislead both the family and authorities and avoid immediate suspicion. Such attempts to disguise a murder as a suicide are not uncommon in cases involving personal relationships, investigators noted.
Following the discovery of new evidence, police questioned the accused at length. Officials said his statements contained several contradictions, further strengthening suspicions of foul play. Based on the available evidence and the results of the investigation so far, authorities registered a case of murder against him and took him into custody for further interrogation.
Police believe that disputes within the relationship may have played a role in the alleged crime, although the exact motive is still being examined. Investigators are now working to establish a detailed timeline of the events leading up to the woman’s death, including the interactions between the couple in the hours before the incident.
Officials added that the investigation remains ongoing, and additional evidence, including digital records and forensic reports, is being analysed to determine the full circumstances of the case. Police said more details are expected to emerge as the probe progresses and as investigators continue to question the accused and examine all aspects related to the woman’s death.
