Bengaluru CEO Lauds Blinkit for Doctor Call Before Late-Night Medicine Delivery

BG Mahesh, a Bengaluru-based startup founder and CEO, took to X to commend quick-commerce platform Blinkit for outstanding service during an urgent late-night medicine order. Around midnight, a family member ordered over-the-counter medication, and remarkably, a doctor contacted the household before the delivery arrived. The physician asked detailed questions about the patient’s age, symptoms, and condition to ensure appropriateness and safety.

Mahesh described the experience as world-class, writing: “Even before we received the medicine, a doctor called to ask how old the patient was, what symptoms the patient had, etc. Well done, Blinkit. We cannot expect this kind of service anywhere else in the world.” His post quickly resonated with users, many of whom shared similar positive encounters with instant-delivery pharmacy services.

Several commenters highlighted how platforms like Blinkit and Zepto have transformed emergency healthcare access in India. One user recounted ordering fever medication at 2 AM, receiving a reassuring doctor call to check symptoms, age, and allergies, followed by delivery in just 20 minutes. Others praised the added verification step for providing peace of mind during late-night crises, with some calling it a life-changing service that even extends to ambulance support and urgent document delivery.

The incident underscores Blinkit’s push into healthtech in 2025-2026, including 10-minute delivery of both OTC and prescription medicines in select Bengaluru areas, often paired with instant teleconsultations for prescription generation or verification. The company also runs a 10-minute ambulance service in cities like Gurugram, marking its first anniversary in early 2026.
