Bengal Monster Jailed 20 Years for Raping, Blackmailing Minors
Man sentenced for assaulting five girls, threatening them with videos.
A Diamond Harbour court in West Bengal’s South 24-Parganas district sentenced 22-year-old Dipanjan Mondal to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment on Saturday for raping five minor girls and blackmailing them with recorded videos. Mondal exploited the absence of his mother, a private tutor to the victims, to commit the assaults a year ago. He threatened to release the videos and kill the girls if they disclosed the crimes.
The victims courageously informed their guardians, leading to a complaint at Falta police station and Mondal’s arrest. The court convicted him for the rapes and blackmail. In a separate case in the same district, Saifuddin Molla received a 10-year sentence for raping a minor, with the case registered at Usti police station.
The rulings mark a strong judicial response to sexual violence against minors in the region.
