Assam Cabinet Approves Proton Beam Cancer Therapy Facility At GMCH For Rs 600 Crore

The Assam Cabinet has approved a landmark Rs 600-crore Proton Beam Therapy facility, marking a significant step forward in the state's healthcare infrastructure. The decision, announced on Sunday, comes as the state government intensifies its investments in critical sectors including healthcare, education, roads, power, housing, and industrial infrastructure. The project is part of a broader capital expenditure plan aimed at transforming Assam's development landscape. The Proton Beam Therapy centre will introduce a specialised cancer treatment facility to the state, addressing a critical gap in advanced oncology care.
