Arsh Dalla Promises Retaliation After Goldy Brar Allegedly Takes Credit For Nijjar’s Killing

The rivalry between Canada-based Indian-origin Khalistani terrorist Arshdeep Singh Gill alias Arsh Dalla and gangster Satinderjeet Singh alias Goldy Brar has intensified after a purported audio clip surfaced in which Brar allegedly claimed responsibility for the killing of pro-Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar outside a gurdwara in Surrey in 2023. Dalla has rejected Brar’s claims and reportedly threatened revenge, bringing renewed attention to the rivalry between the two men and the organised crime networks associated with them.

In a purported 15-minute video circulated on separate Punjabi-language social media platforms, Dalla denied allegations concerning his alleged involvement in Nijjar’s killing and questioned the claims attributed to Brar. Dalla said he was not with Nijjar when the separatist leader was killed and claimed that he had not met him for nearly a year before the incident. He also rejected allegations that Nijjar had provided him with money, shelter or weapons, and denied being involved in any arrangement connected with him.

Nijjar, a wanted Khalistani terrorist according to Indian authorities, was shot dead outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara in Surrey in June 2023. His killing triggered one of the most serious diplomatic disputes between India and Canada in recent years. The then Canadian government alleged that there were potential links between agents of the Indian government and the killing, an allegation that India strongly rejected. The case subsequently became a major issue in relations between the two countries, with investigations continuing amid competing claims over the circumstances surrounding Nijjar’s death.

Dalla, while rejecting Brar’s alleged claim, also accused his rival of operating at the behest of agencies. He alleged that the cases involving Brar’s parents were part of a larger plan, though the claims were not independently established in the material available. Dalla further said that he had never indulged in what he described as “low-level politics”, positioning his response as a rejection of what he portrayed as attempts to attribute actions to him without evidence.

The purported video also contained allegations concerning Punjabi singers and the alleged patronage of the entertainment industry by gangsters. Dalla claimed that gangster patronage was being extended to Punjabi singers, with some performers allegedly appearing at free shows for Brar. He further alleged that gangsters were taking away the profits generated from such activities. The allegations, like Dalla’s other claims, could not be independently verified from the material provided.

The latest exchange has brought the inter-gang rivalry and organised crime angle surrounding Dalla and Brar back into focus. Both men have been associated in public reporting with criminal and extremist networks, while their competing statements have repeatedly involved allegations against each other.
