AP ACB Arrests Assistant Commissioner Kalingiri Santhi After Raids In Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam

AP ACB arrests endowment officer after raids uncover flat, gold and undisclosed assets.

In a major anti-corruption operation, the Andhra Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Endowment Department Assistant Commissioner Kalingiri Santhi following coordinated raids across multiple locations in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam on April 7, 2026. The arrest came after officials received credible information that Santhi had amassed wealth far beyond her known sources of income.

The Vijayawada Range ACB team carried out simultaneous searches at four key locations, including Santhi’s residence, a garment shop owned by her mother, her sister’s residence, and another property in Visakhapatnam. During the raids, investigators seized numerous documents, cash, jewellery, and other high-value assets, providing evidence of alleged disproportionate holdings.

Among the seized assets were a residential flat in Visakhapatnam, a G+2 building in Vijayawada, nearly 770 grams of gold jewellery, close to 3 kilograms of silver articles, cash amounting to Rs 1.15 lakh, and bank deposits of around Rs 3 lakh. Officials also recovered a Volkswagen Polo car, a motorcycle, electronic gadgets, and other valuable items.

Santhi, who was recruited through the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission in 2020, had served in both Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. She had been under suspension from July 2024 to March 2026 and was awaiting a fresh posting at the time of the raids.

The ACB booked her under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, which deals with public servants found in possession of assets disproportionate to their lawful income. After her arrest, Santhi was produced before the Special Court for ACB Cases in Vijayawada, which remanded her to judicial custody until April 21. She was later shifted to the district jail.

Investigators are continuing the process of valuing and documenting the seized assets, and officials have indicated that the total worth may rise as the investigation progresses. The case highlights the ACB’s ongoing efforts to tackle corruption and ensure accountability among public officials in Andhra Pradesh.
