Ankita Bhandari Case Accused Suresh Rathore Faces New FIR Over Car Dispute
Former BJP leader Suresh Rathore faces new FIR for allegedly refusing to return a borrowed car.
Former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore, already under intense legal scrutiny due to his alleged involvement in the sensational 2022 murder case of hotel receptionist Ankita Bhandari, has been slapped with yet another FIR. This latest complaint, registered at Jwalapur police station in Haridwar district on the explicit directions of a local court, has added a significant new dimension to the former legislator’s mounting legal troubles.
The complainant, Rajesh Kumar Gautam, a contractor from Jwalapur, claims he had developed a friendly relationship with Rathore over time. Trusting the former MLA, Gautam reportedly lent his personal car to Rathore for temporary use at the latter’s request. However, what was supposed to be a short-term arrangement turned sour as Rathore allegedly refused to return the vehicle despite repeated requests over an extended period. The situation allegedly escalated further when the contractor pressed for the car’s return, with Rathore reportedly responding with abusive language and issuing serious death threats.
Frustrated by the lack of police action despite multiple attempts to file a formal complaint, the contractor was eventually forced to approach the court for justice. The court, taking cognizance of the matter, directed the police to register an FIR against Suresh Rathore under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of criminal breach of trust, criminal intimidation, and using abusive language. Jwalapur Kotwali in-charge Kundan Singh Rana has confirmed that a detailed investigation into the allegations is currently in progress.

This new case comes at a time when Rathore, along with actress Urmila Sanawar—who publicly claims to be his wife—is already facing multiple FIRs in both Dehradun and Haridwar districts. The legal storm intensified after Sanawar released several explosive videos and alleged audio recordings on social media platforms, in which she accused a powerful 'VIP' figure of having a direct connection to the Ankita Bhandari murder case. In one widely circulated video, she specifically named BJP leader Dushyant Kumar Gautam as the alleged 'VIP', triggering fresh FIRs against both Rathore and Sanawar.
The continuous stream of legal challenges has kept Suresh Rathore in the national spotlight, with each new development drawing renewed public and media attention to the high-profile Ankita Bhandari murder investigation. Authorities maintain that the probe into the car dispute is being conducted independently, even as Rathore’s broader entanglement in the murder case continues to generate intense scrutiny from law enforcement agencies and public opinion alike.
