Ankit Balyan’s Wife Warns Of Self-Immolation, Demands Police Action Within Four Days

Singer’s Wife Gives Police Four-Day Ultimatum

The wife of murdered Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyan on Friday issued a four-day ultimatum to police, threatening to self-immolate if the people responsible for her husband's killing are not arrested. Seema, a teacher in Delhi, said she would take the extreme step outside the Shamli subdivisional magistrate's office or at the residence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath if the accused are not apprehended within the deadline.

Speaking to reporters at Banti Kheda village in Shamli district, Seema expressed dissatisfaction with the police investigation into the murder. She alleged that despite her husband's concerns about his safety, authorities had not provided him with police protection. A video of her statement has surfaced on social media, in which she called for swift action against those responsible for the killing.

Balyan was shot dead on Wednesday evening after leaving a gym in the Kotwali area of Shamli. According to the available information, four people travelling on two motorcycles opened fire on him. The attackers fled from the scene after the shooting, while Balyan was left critically injured. Following the attack, Balyan was taken to a nearby community health centre for medical treatment. However, doctors declared him dead after he was brought to the facility. The killing has since triggered demands from his family for the immediate arrest of the accused and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Seema has alleged that her husband had previously approached police seeking security because of concerns about his safety. According to her, the request for protection was denied. The allegation has added another dimension to the case, with the family now questioning whether more could have been done to protect Balyan before the fatal attack. Her threat to self-immolate has placed additional pressure on the police and district administration to make progress in the investigation. Seema said she would wait for four days for the accused to be arrested before taking the threatened step. She identified the Shamli SDM's office and the Uttar Pradesh chief minister's residence as the locations where she could carry out the threat.

The killing has drawn attention because Balyan was known as a Haryanvi singer and YouTuber. His death has left his family seeking answers about the motive behind the attack and the identity of those responsible. The circumstances of the shooting, including the use of two motorcycles by the attackers, are now expected to form part of the police investigation.

At present, details about the identities of the four alleged attackers, their motive and their whereabouts have not been provided in the available information. Police action and any arrests will be crucial in establishing what led to the shooting and whether the attack was planned. Investigators are also expected to examine available evidence from the scene and information provided by witnesses.

The case has also raised questions about Balyan's alleged request for police protection. If confirmed by the authorities, details of when he sought security and the reasons cited for the request could become relevant to the investigation. Seema's allegation that protection was denied is likely to face scrutiny as police continue examining the circumstances preceding the murder.

For Balyan's family, the immediate demand remains the arrest of those responsible for his death. Seema has made clear that she believes the investigation must result in arrests within four days and has publicly threatened to take her own life if that does not happen. Her statement has added urgency to a case that began with the fatal shooting of the singer outside a gym in Shamli on Wednesday evening.
