Andhra Man Poses as CISF Officer to Deceive Woman Into Marriage, Arrested at Hyderabad Airport
Already married, Balakrishna wore a fake CISF uniform to deceive a divorcee's family into agreeing to marriage.
A man from Andhra Pradesh was arrested at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad after he allegedly impersonated a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer in an attempt to carry out marriage fraud, police said on Wednesday. The accused was taken into custody after his suspicious movements inside the airport triggered verification checks by security personnel.
According to officials, the accused, identified as Balakrishna Samman from Srikakulam, was seen roaming inside the airport premises in full CISF uniform and taking photographs. His behaviour reportedly raised suspicion among on-duty CISF personnel, who then approached him for questioning. When asked to produce valid identification and service credentials, he failed to provide satisfactory documents or proof of employment.
A senior police official at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, ACP V. Sreekanth Goud, said that initial verification confirmed the impersonation. He stated that the man’s presence in uniform and lack of proper identification immediately alerted security staff. Following standard procedures, he was detained for further interrogation and later handed over to police authorities for investigation.

During the investigation, authorities uncovered that the impersonation was allegedly linked to a larger marriage fraud case. Police said the accused had created false social media profiles portraying himself as a government employee. He reportedly used the fake identity to gain trust in a relationship with a divorcee and to convince her family to marry under false pretences.
Investigators further revealed that the accused is already married and has a child but continued the deception to maintain his relationship. By falsely claiming to be CISF personnel, he allegedly attempted to project a stable government job profile to mislead the woman and her family. Officials are now examining the extent of the fraud and whether more individuals were deceived.
Police have registered a case and initiated further legal proceedings against the accused. Authorities also reiterated that impersonation of security forces is a serious offence, especially within sensitive zones like airports, and assured that strict action will be taken as the investigation continues.
