Alwar Murder Case: Elderly Man Found Dead, Lakhs Stolen From Home
Elderly Alwar man found dead, tied up; lakhs stolen.
An 80-year-old man was found dead with his hands and legs tied and his face covered following an alleged robbery at his residence in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, police said on Friday. The deceased was identified as Dinesh Chandra Agrawal, who lived alone in the Khadana locality under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station.
According to police, Agrawal usually had dinner every night at the residence of his son, Vikas Agrawal. When he failed to arrive on Thursday night, concerned family members went to check on him. They found him lying dead inside a room with his hands and legs tied and his face covered.
Investigators found that the house had been ransacked, with cupboards left open and belongings scattered across the premises. Family members alleged that the accused entered the house through a rear entrance and fled with cash worth several lakh rupees that had been kept inside the residence.

Police said Agrawal was involved in exchanging old currency notes and usually kept substantial amounts of cash at his home. Investigators are examining the circumstances of the alleged robbery and trying to determine how many people were involved. The exact amount of cash stolen has not yet been officially confirmed.
The body was sent to the mortuary of Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully visited the victim’s residence on Thursday night and met the bereaved family. He demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the alleged murder and robbery.
Police have registered a case of murder and robbery based on a complaint filed by the family and launched an investigation to identify and arrest the accused. Authorities are expected to examine available evidence from the house and surrounding area as part of the probe into the elderly man’s death and the alleged theft.
