AK-47, Glock Pistols Seized From ISI Module In Amritsar
ISI-sponsored module busted in Amritsar with AK-47 and Glock pistols recovered.
Punjab Police has busted an alleged terror module linked to Pakistan’s intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence in Amritsar, recovering an AK-47 rifle, Glock pistols and other ammunition during the operation, officials said.
According to police authorities, the crackdown was carried out after intelligence inputs suggested the existence of a Pakistan-backed network attempting to destabilise the region. Acting on the information, police teams launched a targeted operation that led to the recovery of a cache of sophisticated weapons believed to have been smuggled into India through cross-border channels.
Officials said the recovered arms included an AK-47 assault rifle along with multiple Glock pistols and a quantity of ammunition. Investigators suspect the weapons were intended for use in terror-related activities in Punjab and possibly other parts of the country. Security agencies are now working to determine how the arms were transported and who was responsible for coordinating the operation on the Indian side.

Police sources indicated that the module was allegedly being funded and directed from across the border. Preliminary investigations suggest that handlers linked to the Inter-Services Intelligence had been providing logistical and financial support to operatives within India to facilitate the procurement and distribution of weapons.
Authorities believe the bust could help prevent potential terror activities in the region. Counter-terror teams are continuing to question suspects and analyse digital evidence to identify additional members of the network and uncover the broader structure of the alleged module.
Security agencies have intensified surveillance along the border following the operation. Officials said the investigation is ongoing and further arrests and recoveries are possible as police expand the probe into the suspected terror network.
