Ahmedabad Crime Branch Cracks Murder Case; Woman Accused of Plotting Lover's Death
Gujarat woman plots lover's murder; second lover caught.
The Ahmedabad City Crime Branch has solved a murder case in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district that was initially treated as an accidental death, uncovering what investigators described as a conspiracy driven by personal relationships and betrayal. Police officials said the case involved a woman allegedly plotting the murder of one of her lovers with the help of another man after an earlier contract killing attempt reportedly failed.
According to investigators, the case centered around the death of Shantigiri Vishnugiri Goswami, a resident of Soldi village in Dhrangadhra taluka of Surendranagar district. An unidentified body recovered from a canal area had initially led local authorities to register the incident as an accidental death. However, following intelligence inputs and further investigation by the Ahmedabad Crime Branch, officials reportedly uncovered evidence suggesting the death was the result of a pre-planned murder.
Police said the investigation progressed through extensive fieldwork, technical analysis, and human intelligence gathering. Authorities allegedly discovered that the accused woman had developed personal conflicts involving multiple relationships and had first attempted to arrange the victim’s killing through a hired attacker. After that alleged plan failed, investigators claim she later conspired with another lover to execute the murder directly.

Crime Branch officials stated that inconsistencies in witness statements, communication records, and the timeline surrounding the victim’s disappearance played a significant role in exposing the alleged conspiracy. Investigators reportedly reconstructed events leading up to the victim’s death and identified the involvement of multiple individuals connected to the case. Arrests were later made following months of investigation and surveillance.
The case has drawn attention because of the manner in which the death was initially classified and the complexity of the relationships involved. Police officials said the matter highlights the importance of thorough investigation in suspicious death cases, especially when early evidence appears inconclusive. Authorities also indicated that forensic analysis and interrogation of the accused contributed significantly to establishing the alleged motive and sequence of events.
Further legal proceedings are expected as investigators continue collecting evidence and preparing charges related to murder and criminal conspiracy. The accused individuals are likely to face prosecution under multiple provisions of Indian criminal law. Police have not ruled out the possibility of additional arrests or further developments as the investigation into the Surendranagar murder case continues.
