Agra Murder Case: Wife, Lover Arrested After Half-Burnt Body Identified Through Forearm Tattoo

Agra police arrest wife and lover after tattoo identifies husband's half-burnt body.

A shocking murder case in Agra has been solved after police identified a half-burnt body using a tattoo, leading to the arrest of the victim’s wife, her alleged lover, and an accomplice. The case, which began with the discovery of a charred body in the Saiyan area on April 1, has revealed a chilling conspiracy rooted in an extramarital affair.

Panic had spread in the locality when the partially burnt body was found, with the face beyond recognition. However, a tattoo on the forearm bearing the name “Lokendra” helped police establish the victim’s identity. A missing person complaint had been filed the following day by Lokendra’s brother, who stated that he had last been seen with Mahesh Prajapati.

According to police, five investigation teams were formed to crack the case. CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and key evidence recovered from the crime scene—including liquor bottles and paper scraps—played a crucial role in tracing the accused. The QR codes on the liquor bottles helped investigators track purchase details, while local shopkeepers identified the origin of the paper used at the scene.

During interrogation, Mahesh Prajapati allegedly confessed to being in a long-term relationship with Lokendra’s wife. Police said the duo, along with Mahesh’s friend Dharamveer, conspired to kill Lokendra after he discovered the affair. On April 1, the victim’s wife reportedly informed Mahesh when Lokendra left home. Mahesh then met him, invited him for drinks, and, along with Dharamveer, allegedly strangled him in a field before setting the body on fire using petrol and wheat bales.

Aditya Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Agra), confirmed that swift coordination and evidence-based investigation led to the arrests. The accused have been taken into custody and presented in court. Police officials have praised the teams for their prompt action in solving the case and bringing those responsible to justice.
