4 Girls Rescued! Trafficking Bid Foiled at Malda's Khaltipur Station

RPF saves 4 minor girls from trafficking at Malda station in West Bengal.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) successfully rescued four minor girls at Khaltipur railway station in West Bengal’s Malda division during a targeted operation under Operation AAHT (Action Against Human Trafficking), an Eastern Railway (ER) official reported on Wednesday. The intervention occurred as part of an intensive check within the ER jurisdiction.

RPF personnel identified the girls after they disembarked from the 13034 Down Katihar-Howrah Express and were observed moving suspiciously around the station. Upon questioning, the minors disclosed their identities and revealed they had fled their hometown after being misled by an unknown individual. The official did not elaborate on the nature of the deception but confirmed the girls’ vulnerability.

A case was promptly registered, and the rescued girls were handed over to the Child Helpline in Malda for further care and action. RPF officials also managed to contact the father of one of the minors, facilitating steps toward reunification. This rescue underscores the RPF’s ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals at railway stations across India.
